How many points do you really need for General Skilled Migration?

If you are eligible for Australia’s General Skilled Migration program you may be able to permanently migrate to Australia on a skilled visa. The opportunity to obtain permanent residence is sought after by many skilled individuals each year, therefore the Government issues invitations to apply for General Skilled Migration based on a number of points tested requirements.

In order to be invited to apply for permanent residence through the General Skilled Migration program, the Department of Home Affairs advises you need to acquire a minimum of 60 points to secure an invitation, however Migration Agent from Immigracious, Sheila Woods believes you may need more points than this to secure your invite.

Immigracious has reviewed the latest statistics from the Department of Home Affairs, which shows there are no invitations currently being sent to individuals with 60 or 65 points. See our fact sheet to understand what this means for you if you’re interested in applying for General Skilled Migration.
