Family Visa Processing Times For Australia

If you’re thinking about moving the family over to Australia, then you’ll need to make sure you’ve thought about which visas you’ll need for your family.

Types of Family Visas For Australia

– There are several types of family visa that may apply to your situation which are divided into priority groups:

– Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300) – Group 1

– Temporary Partner Visa (subclass 309, 820) – Group 1

– Permanent Partner Visa (subclass 100, 801) – Group 1

– Child Visa (subclass 101, 102, 117, 445, 802, 837) – Group 1

– Parent Visa (subclass 103, 804) – Group 3

– Other Family visa (subclass 114, 115, 116, 835, 836, 838) – Group 3

Family Visa Processing Times

Both Prospective Marriage Visas and Temporary Partner Visas will take between 5 to 12 months to process, however you can not apply for a Prospective Marriage visa outside of Australia, and if you do apply for a Temporary Partner Visa within Australia the waiting time can vary between 6 to 8 months.

With Child Visas the waiting times greatly vary with applications from within Australia ranging from 7 to 8 months to process, but applications from outside Australia taking anywhere between 3 to 14 months.
