Skilled Occupation List Changes Announced

Changes to the skilled occupation lists have now been announced, with changes effective immediately from 17 January 2018.

Revisions to the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) reflect the eligible occupations for a Subclass 457 Visa, whereas changes to the Medium to Long Term Strategic Skilled List (MLTSSL) indicate the eligible occupations for a long term or permanent residence visa.

You can view the changes to the skilled occupation lists here in our Fact Sheet of the Skilled Occupation List Changes – Jan 2018.

How the changes impact current skilled visa applications

The Government has advised that applications that have been lodged but not yet finalised will not be impacted by the new skilled occupation list revisions, as the changes will not be applied retrospectively. Caveats may apply, which may impact the use of the occupation for visa eligibility.

To understand how caveat changes may apply to a particular occupation, or if you ave any questions about the above changes, please contact our registered migration agents on 08 6263 4406 or hello@immigracious.com.au
